Autumn Bucket List

Attention everyone, it is officially Fall!

Hip hip hooray! It's finally here and I just couldn't be more delighted!

If you're new here and have never heard about my bucket lists, read about them here. The overall goal of my bucket lists is to accomplish reasonable and fun things over a season. This way you're not too overwhelmed by what you're hoping to do.

I would have to say every season is my favorite season, because by the end of a season I am always tired of the current one and ready for the next to come along. So, as of now, it's my favorite season! (Check back with me in two months about this one... by that time I'll probably be going Christmas crazy)

As we all get ready for the scarf wearing, pumpkin eating, leaf-throwing time of year, take today and think about what you hope to do during this fall season.

Here's what I'm planning on doing...

Autumn Bucket List

- Pumpkin Patch

- Start a book club
- Read three books
- Make my moms pumpkin cookies
- Take a road trip
- Go to Oktoberfest
- Visit Nana
- Have a friendsgiving
- Dallas Arboretum (yes again, the pumpkin display is to die for)
- Go to The Rustic
- Go to the state fair
- Have a Halloween party
- Go to San Marcos
- Perform 10 random acts of kindness
- Go on a hike
- Volunteer somewhere
- Watch my brother show his steer
- Go to adoration at least 4 times
- Make a new blogger friend
- Give up sweets for one week (for real this time!)
- Purge my closet and donate what I'm getting rid of
- Write in my Grateful journal everyday
- Go camping (or more reasonably glamping?)
- Watch the sunrise
- Pick apples*
- Eat at Harvest (New Farm to Table Restaurant)
- Buy a new scarf
- Plant something
- Initiate a meet up/get together with three people I just met
- Start a bible study
- Keep my room clean
- Have a pen pal

Thank you all so much for following along!

* I'm not quite sure how I'm going to pull this one off... so if you have an apple orchard that just needs to be picked- I'm your girl!

  1. If you want to volunteer at a place where you get to work with fashion a lot. See if you state has a local Dress for Success chapter. It is where I volunteer and did my internship. It is so much fun plus you can to dress people for the work force which is a major bonus.

  4. Great list, Kendall! I started a book club in 2000 which resulted in not only getting to talk with someone about the books I was reading, but also introduction to books I wouldn't have otherwise been aware of and some awesome friendships!

    1. You should try it Shannon! It just makes you feel good to check things off a bucket list! And breaking it up by seasons just makes it fun and more manageable.

    1. Thank you, Katy! I have one that I used to write in every morning when I woke up, but as we all know life gets busy and I quickly forgot all about it. I need to start mine up again too, it definitely puts things into prospective and reminds me of how much I real have to be grateful for!

  11. I'm very determined to have a Halloween party this year! In past years I always get busy and let it slide through the cracks...but I've already started making my costume for this year, so I need to do SOMETHING with it! Hahah :)

    1. I'm with you girl! I try to plan parties as often as I can but once I start planning and remember how much time they take up, I find myself asking why I wanted to do it in the first place. You are on top of it, I should probably think of ideas before Halloween gets too close!

  12. Fall is my favorite season, and this is such a good list! I want to read a lot! I'll probably end up reading more than 3 books though haha. A road trip is a must, and so is the state fair! I can't wait for October to get here! Purging your closet is a good one. I might have to do that too. My closet is getting ridiculous!

    1. It is such a great season! There's just so many great things to do in the fall! I'm very envious of you and your available time you have to read.. I made the same commitment for myself throughout the summer and I just barely finished my third! Yeah, I'm pretty sure I still have clothes from my freshman year of high school hanging in my closest... I don't think they even fit me and they for sure won't be back in style for awhile!

    1. I am way too much of a scaredy cat for haunted houses! I think the last time I went in one was high school and I definitely cried and had to leave the houses early if that tells you anything!

  19. I love Autumn bucket lists! I need to make one of my own. I definitely want to pick apples this year. I live in Florida so we don't have orchards here, but hopefully I'll get to travel and see some Fall leaves.

    1. I wasn't quite sure if apples even grew in Texas... (is that really dumb for me to admit?) But I've come across some orchards pretty close to me, the only real problem is some of them are already out of apples for the year? Thanks for ruining my dreams... Maybe we can come up with some way to virtually pick the apples. Ha!

    1. Girl, I tried to give up sweets for a week on my summer bucket list and that was a definite F A I L. It's just too hard... sometimes I can make it until the evening but then I just start coming up with reasons on why I "deserve" the sweets. What a struggle!

  25. Great idea making a Fall bucket list! We did something similar last year and it helped get us motivated to try new things and enjoy old traditions throughout the Fall. Enjoy!
